Miss Pearl A. Presley, 94, of the 1800 block of Vine St., died Tuesday Jan. 14, 1997, in the Albemarle Hospital after a brief illness.
Miss Presley was a native of Cherokee County, Ga., and the daughter of the late Cicero Guy and Sophronia Tatum Presley. She was a member of Town South Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Cincinnati Bible Seminary and completed additional studies in music at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and Mrs. Kurt Mueller and Miss Edith Bartholomew of Agnes Scott College. She was employed by Southern Bell for 30 years. She taught music at Atlanta Christian College for 11 years and at Roanoke Bible College for 45 years.
Miss Presley is survived by two sisters, Sarah Presley BonDurant of Elizabeth City, Grace Presley of Ball Ground, Ga.; three nephews and five nieces; 14 great-nephews; seven great-nieces; and several great-great-nephews and nieces.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the lobby of Pearl A. Presley Hall on the campus of Roanoke Bible College, Elizabeth City, with President William Griffin, Ministers George BonDurant, Melvin Styons, Ronnie J. Woolard. A visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City. A funeral service will be at Pleasant Hill Christian Church, Jasper, Ga. at 2 p.m. Saturday with burial to follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday in Cagle Funeral Home, Jasper.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Roanoke Bible College Foundation.
