Daniel Burrell, 74, of the 2200 block of Green Street died Jan. 11, 1997.
A retired shipfitter, Mr. Burrell was a 25-year employee of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a Portsmouth native and the widower of Christine Burrell. He was a member of St. John Baptist Church, Jolly Senior Citizens and Madison Ward Civic League.
Survivors include his two daughters, Daisy Low of Tacoma, Wash., Janie Smith of Indianapolis; three sons, Daniel Burrell of Milwaukee, Wis., Thomas Burrell of Battle Creek, Mich., and Carl Burrell of Richmond; 11 grandchildren; eight great-granchildren; three cousins, Roberta Brown, Leroy Lewis and Queenie Ballard; and niece, Evora Neal.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in St. John Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert Earls. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge.
