NO END TO TAX BURDEN

``NOW WHAT?'' The Jan. 11 Pilot headlines should speak very clearly to Norfolk City Council. Norfolk taxpayers must ask themselves that same question daily. For several years, taxpayers have been required to pay for the numerous and well-known failures City Council has ventured into.

Now Nauticus wants Norfolk to take over its operation. Add that to the future mall, and the $1.50 tax increase for the proposed Rhinos, and the taxpayers lose again. Last time I looked, my taxes went up a lot more than what was estimated when we began paying for Waterside. When will it end?

The new TCC campus in Norfolk will probably be the only success story for downtown. And TCC may be the mall's only hope.
