The City Council took the following action at its meeting Tuesday: Proposal
Port Norfolk and Mount Hermon neighborhoods - Rezoning application of the city for consideration of a comprehensive rezoning of portions of these neighborhoods from Industrial (M-1) and Commercial (C-2) to Industrial (M-1-R). The rezoning area is generally bounded on the east by an alley behind the 700 and 800 blocks of Broad Street, on the south by North and Portland streets, on the west by Hamilton and Douglas avenues, and on the north by Hartford Street. Denied, 5-1-1; Pitts opposed the denial, and Robinett abstained
Truxtun neighborhood - Rezoning application of Donald Baker to modify the existing Commercial C-2-K zoning classification to allow auto wholesale activities at 2200 Frederick Blvd. Approved, 7-0

Ordinance to appropriate $15,973,200 from the Public Utilities Capital Improvements Fund for the Lake Kilby Water Treatment Plant. Motion to award contract to English Construction Inc., and to execute a task order for inspection and construction administration services with CH2M-Hill. Approved, 7-0

Motion to transfer $170,490 from the Grants Contingency Account for the continuation of PART-H of the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act, with no local match required. Approved, 7-0
