Willard G. Bennett, 74, died Jan. 16, 1997, in a local hospital.
Mr. Bennett was retired from DePaul Hospital and a native of Hartford, Ky. He was a member of Azalea Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Ex-P.O.W., Norfolk Chapter.
Survivors include his wife, Willie Lee Bennett; three sons, Gary Bennett and Alan Bennett, both of Frederick, Md., and Larry Bennett of Lebanon, N.J.; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in Azalea Baptist Church by the Rev. Danny Owens. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with graveside services at 11 a.m. Monday. The family will receive friends in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Azalea Baptist Church Youth Program.
