Elizabeth Evans Purves, 97, of the 4800 block of Larkin St., died Jan. 16, 1997.
Born in Tazewell, Va., she was the widow of Andrew S. Purves and was a member of Coleman Place Presbyterian Church since 1944. She was a retired office manager for Stephensons Rental Uniform Service of Norfolk.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Bruce Rainwater of Norfolk, Donna Culpepper of California; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a nephew, David Purves of Mississippi; and niece, Shirley Fallin of Glen Allen, Va.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Coleman Place Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Larry C. Miles. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements.
