Louis Milton ``Lou'' Lader, 77, of the 1100 block of Red Maple Road, died Jan. 17, 1997, in a Portsmouth hospital.
The son of the late Henry E. Lader and Rosa Cohen Lader, he was a retired sheetmetal worker for Shop 17, Norfolk Naval Shipyard. A native of Portsmouth, he was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Daisy L. Lader; two daughters, Margaret Ruddock and her husband, Jim, Martha Mae Schoener and her husband, Herb, of Austin, Texas; three sons, Milton L. Lader and his wife, Karen, of Oxford, Ohio, William L. Lader Sr. and his wife, Pat, and John A. Lader, all of Chesapeake; three sisters, Bertha Jamison of Portsmouth, Irene Galbreath of Chesapeake, Louise Stevens of Unionville, Iowa; two brothers, Albert Lader of Harwich, Mass., William Lader of Portsmouth; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Holy Communion Lutheran Church by Dr. Dennis D. Buchholz. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Sturtevant Funeral home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel.
