Demetrius Jermaine Lassiter, 22, of the 800 block of Tidewater Drive, died Jan. 16, 1997, in a local hospital.
A Norfolk native, he was a student at Norfolk State University, Department of Engineering, and a produce clerk for Food Lion Inc. He was a member of Garden of Prayer (NU)3 COGIC. He was predeceased by his mother, Beverly Lassiter.
Survivors include his father, Willie Dixon; sisters, Pamela Lassiter, Dolsialeen Lassiter, both of Norfolk; a brother, Melvin Lassiter of Stone Mountain, Ga.; grandmother, Mrs. Quetta Edmonds of Norfolk; aunt, Dolsialeen Edmonds of Norfolk; three nephews; two nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday by Pastor William Dan White in Garden of Prayer (NU)3 COGIC, 200 W. 28th St., Norfolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The body will be placed in church at 11 a.m. Monday. Family and friends will assemble at 2322 Rush St. at noon Monday. Hale Funeral Home is in charge.
