BENNIE ZEDD

Bennie Zedd, 80, died Jan. 19, 1997, in a local hospital.

Bennie, a native of Norfolk, was the widower of Gertrude A. Bunch Zedd. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of 29th Division Association Post (NU)5. He also was a member of AF & AM of Virginia Mason Lodge 0167.

Survivors include three sons, Durwood Zedd of San Francisco, Calif., Larry Zedd and his wife Beth of Virginia Beach, Edward Zedd and his wife Nancy of Norfolk; a sister, Beatrice Wolff and her husband Sidney of Virginia Beach; a brother, Calvin Zedd and his wife Peggy of Norfolk; five grandchildren, Allison and Joel Zedd of Norfolk, Douglas Brock Zedd, Brady Zedd and Zachary Zedd of Virginia Beach; a sister-in-law, Beulah Webb of Virginia Beach; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rabbi Michael Panitz and Cantor Yael Fischman. The family will receive friends at the home of Calvin and Peggy Zedd, 215 Brooke Ave., Harbour Place Condominiums, Norfolk, following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad, Beth Sholom Home, or to a charity of the donor's choice. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
