Betty Marmon Burns, 72, died Jan. 19, 1997, in Norfolk.
Mrs. Burns was born in Philadelphia. She was a retired retail manager, having worked in shoes and cosmetics. She was the widow of retired Navy Lt. Cmdr. A.E. Burns.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Toll Watson of Alexandria, Va.; two sons, Arthur L. Toll of Philadelphia and Kenneth Evan Burns of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Sherry Allen of Virginia Beach and Helen Farrell of Chesapeake; two stepsons, Alvin E. Burns Jr. of Chesapeake and Donald Burns of Norfolk.
A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by Rabbi Israel Zoberman. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling arrangements. Contributions may be made to the Isadore Marman Memorial Fund at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
