Gaynell Corbett Langley, 84, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, at her home.
Mrs. Langley, a native of Pitt County, spent most of her married life in the Portsmouth, Va., area. She had been a resident of Grifton since 1979. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Grifton and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include six daughters, Barbara Godlewski of Imlay City, Mich., Violet Carter of Iselin, N.J., Vivian Langley of Henderson, Nev., Donna Wagner of Detroit, Mich., Melva Langley-Taylor of Gainesville, Ga., and Margaret Little of Portsmouth; three sons, M.L. Langley Jr. of Leesburg, Va., Michael R. Langley of Grifton and Charles L. Langley of Chesapeake; two brothers, William B. Corbett of Grifton and Fenner S. Corbett of Simpson; a sister, Grace Tomlinson of Charleston, S.C.; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
