WILLIAM O. MANSFIELD

William O. Mansfield, 90, of the 1300 block of Sage Court died Jan. 19, 1997, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

A retired shipfitter at Norfolk Naval Shipyard with 32 years service, Mr. Mansfield was a native of Currituck County, N.C., and the widower of Ruby Mae Garrett Mansfield. He was the spokesperson for the brochure for Sentara Village. He was also a charter member of the South Norfolk Lion's Club and the former owner of Bill's Soda Shop, Portlock, Va.

Survivors include two daughters, Jean M. Fleming of Enterprise, Ala., and Donna Embry of Chesapeake; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, Chesapeake. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Virginia Knights of Columbus Charities Inc. Visitation wil be at the funeral from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
