ROBERT W. CORNELL

Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Robert W. Cornell died Jan. 20, 1997, in a local hospital.

Lt. Col. Cornell was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and a former resident of Port Richey, Fla., and Bel Air, Md. He retired as an officer in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War and World War II.

Lt. Col. Cornell was a member of the Anglo Saxon Masonic Lodge No. 137, Brooklyn; charter member of the Retired Officer's Association, Mid-Florida Chapter, Tarpon Springs, Fla.; charter member, secretary and past president of the Upper Suncoast Chapter of the Retired Officer's Association, Port Richey.

Survivors include his wife, Marie F. Cornell; daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy Ann Conley and retired U.S. Navy Cmdr. Gail Conley, of Virginia Beach; and two grandchildren, Jeffrey Conley and Kristin Conley.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 360 Southport Circle, Virginia Beach, Va. 23452. Arrangements were by Colonial Crematorium, Norfolk.
