FRANK A. METCALF

Frank Arthur Metcalf, 85, of Holland Lane died Jan. 20, 1997, in Obici Hospital.

A native of Suffolk, he was a son of the late Carl Barber and Lucy Jakeman Metcalf. He was predeceased by a brother, Lisle Metcalf. Mr. Metcalf was the retired co-owner of Metcalf & Henry Masonry, Norfolk, and a member of Windsor Christian Church. He was a 50-year Mason and was a member of Odenton Masonic Lodge No. 209 in Odenton, Md., and the Khedive Temple in Norfolk.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Palmer Metcalf; a stepdaughter, Barbara Palmer Powell and her husband, Russell, of Zuni; brother, Earl J. Metcalf of Smithfield; two step-grandchildren, Jeffrey Powell and his wife, Amy, of Knoxville, Tenn., Alisa Powell Wyatt and her husband, David, of Zuni; step-great-grandson, William (Will) David Wyatt III; and a nephew, Steve Metcalf of Newport News.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Basil L. Ballard. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today and other times at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the Windsor Christian Church, 1 Windsor Blvd. W., Windsor, Va. 23487 or the Windsor Rescue Squad, 19 Windsor Blvd. E., Windsor, Va. 23487.
