CLYDE H. PARKER

Clyde H. Parker, 75, of the 1000 block of Livingston Ave., formerly of McDowell County, W.Va., died Jan. 20, 1997, in his residence.

A retired employee of Norfolk Shipbuilding and Drydock, Mr. Parker was recently employed at Hardee's restaurant, Cedar Road. He was a Mountain City, Tenn., native and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He worked in the coal mines in McDowell County for 17 years.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Jackson Parker; daughter, Brenda Joyce Johnson of Norfolk; stepdaughter, Nancy B. Freeman and her husband, L.G. Freeman of Chesapeake; stepson, Stanley E. Blankenship and his wife, Candi, of Chesapeake; brother, Fred Parker of McDowell County; five grandchildren, Stacey Vogl, Justin Freeman, Jeff Harris and Carla Dorman, all of Chesapeake, Kristen Dorman of Virginia Beach; two stepgrandchildren, Jennifer and Jill Mayes of Chesapeake. He was predeceased by a stepson, Charles G. Blankenship.

A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Penny L. Wilson, with entombment following. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sentara Hospice Program, No. 8 Koger Executive Center, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
