MARIA D. CARANTO

Maria David Caranto, 67, of the 3200 block of Barlborough Way died Jan. 21, 1997.

A seamstress for Finishing Touch Drapery, she was a native of the Philippines and the widow of Francisco M. Caranto. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Virginia Beach. She was also a member of Filipino Women's Club of Tidewater, Tarlaqueno and United Ilocano Association of Tidewater.

Survivors include three sons, Carlo D. Caranto and fiancee, Adora of Virginia Beach, Martom D. Caranto and his wife, Nancy of Virginia Beach and Lorenzo D. Caranto and wife, Mely of the Philippines; four sisters, Fely Floresca and husband, Roberto of Virginia Beach, Zenaida Marollano and husband, Francisco of Virginia Beach, Milagros Ingle and husband, Onofre and Conchita Presley and husband, Richard, all of the Philippines; two brothers, Anthony David and his wife, Estrella Buco, of Virginia Beach and Jose David and wife, Erlinda Tapec, of the Philippines; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francisco M. Caranto and two sons.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
