Joyce Gower, 68, of the 2800 block of Princeton Ave., died Jan. 21, 1997.
Born in Plymouth, N.C., she was a retired accounting clerk for Pure Oil Co. She was a Protestant.
Survivors include two sisters, Bernice G. Carawan and Shirley G. Ambrose, both of Chesapeake; a brother, David B. Gower of Chesapeake; four nieces, Cheryl Corvello of Newport News, Sue Yates of Chesapeake, Royce Parker of Virginia Beach and Emily Putnam of Grandy, N.C.; nephews, Donald Carawan, James Ambrose, Leon Ambrose and Joseph Bonneville, all of Chesapeake, and Jerry Bonneville of Lynchburg, Va.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon Friday by the Rev. Charles L. Moseley in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today to receive friends.
