Agatha H. Cornwell, 94, of Jacksonville and formerly of the 5000 block of Vick St., Portsmouth, died Jan. 21, 1997.
A native of Kings Mountain, N.C., she was a Baptist and the widow of Hoard T. Cornwell Sr.
Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Granger and her husband, Doc, of Jacksonville; two sons, Hoard T. Cornwell Jr. of Portsmouth and Jerry Cornwell and his wife, Luise, of Virginia Beach; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. John A. Bright. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel.
