Mrs. Lou Ella Rea Long, 60, of the 1500 block of N. Broad St., died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997.
A native of Chowan County, Mrs. Long was a daughter of the late William D. and Virginia Pearline Haris Rea and the wife of Roy Preston Long Sr.
She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Long Woodley of Edenton, N.C.; six sons, Roy P. Long Jr. of Edenton, Timothy Long Sr. of Hertford, Anthony Mark Long of Edenton, Jonathan Samuel Long Sr. of Tyner; a sister, Virginia Rea of Alaska; five brothers, William Franklin Rea of Tyner, William D. Rea of Belvidere, Edward Allen Rea and Merrian Rea, both of Portsmouth, and James Reid Rea of New Bern; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Edenton. Burial will follow in the Beaver Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Evans Funeral Home.
