A 21-year-old man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to his abdomen Wednesday night after a gunman opened fire on a store's parking lot from a minivan.
Police said it was unclear if the man was the intended target.
The incident occurred about 7 p.m. at the Daily Needs convenience store in the 2200 block of Portlock Road, police said.
The van pulled into the lot and someone in it opened fire. Bullets hit two cars and Keith Moyler of the 1600 block of Freeman Ave.
Moyler was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. His condition was not immediately available.
The minivan was described as maroon and had out-of-state license plates, tinted windows and a luggage rack. It may have been a Dodge Caravan.
