At its Tuesday meeting, the Virginia Beach School Board did not

say it would discuss a proposed funding formula at its Feb. 4

meeting; nor did the School Board say it would ask the City Council

to defer taking action on the proposal for several months. A story

in Wednesday's MetroNews section contained errors.

Eight homes were evacuated Tuesday night in the Roosevelt Gardens

area of Norfolk after dynamite was found in a garage; the homes are

on the 8200 block of Jolima Avenue. A MetroNews brief Wednesday had

a wrong location.

A brief in Saturday's MetroNews section erroneously reported a

fire in an apartment over Jimmy's Fresh Market, which is in the 300

block of Mount Vernon Avenue in Portsmouth. The fire involved a

duplex also in the 300 block of Mount Vernon Avenue but did not

involve Jimmy's Fresh Market or the apartment over the store.
