SOLVE TRANSPORTATION, WATER PROBLEMS

Recently, I made my first visits to Military Circle, Military Crossing and Janaf malls. Each locale was bright and clean, and security was visible. The only things missing were customers and sales help.

I had the same impression when I visited Waterside in downtown Norfolk. How, then, will a MacArthur Center mall contribute to the growth of a seemingly saturated retail market?

And why would a Rhino arena enhance the Hampton Roads reputation? Following the Panthers' and Jaguars' exposure in recent football challenges, are there any hints of commercial interest in Jacksonville or Charlotte as a result?

It strikes me that the regional planners are not placing adequate emphasis on economic bedrock for Hampton Roads residents.

As we approach the 21st century, water and transportation issues are yet to be resolved. How on earth can we haggle over malls and sports arenas if we can't settle transport and water?
