Roosevelt M. ``Boodlin'' ``Kid'' Owens, 55, of the 1400 block of Green St., died Jan. 20, 1997, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
He was a native of Southampton County, Va.
Survivors include his wife, Lois M. Owens; five daughters, Sharon Taylor, Debbie Houston, Sheila Roberts, Felecia Owens, Veronica Owens, all of Portsmouth; four sons, Melvin Lee Bottoms of Boykins, Donald Owens, Michael Owens, Dwayne Owens, all of Portsmouth; five sisters, Cora Gill, Maybell Sivells, both of Portsmouth, Mary Myrick of Newsome, Va., Sarah Boyd of Courtland, Va., Claudette Owens of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; a brother, Robert Owens of Franklin, Va.; 10 grandchildren, two aunts, an uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth, by Brother Steve Timberlake. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at the funeral home will begin at noon today.
