A 28-year-old man arrested in Canada on rape and attempted murder changes has been returned to the city, police said.
Mark A. Michael, 28, faces arraignment at 8:30 a.m. today on 17 charges stemming from what authorities say was a 1991 Super Bowl party-turned-gang-rape in Deep Creek.
Two detectives accompanied Michael to Virginia. He arrived Thursday night and was being held in the city jail without bond.
Michael - who failed to show up for a General District Court hearing in April 1991, skipping out on a $50,000 bond - was located about a week ago in Toronto and detained as he apparently tried to re-enter the United States.
