What is big, yellow and brings a world of news to students across the country?
The C-SPAN school bus, which will roll into town today to visit Nansemond-Suffolk Academy.
The customized motor coach houses a TV production studio and a small classroom where visitors can watch an overview of C-SPAN programming. The C-SPAN public affairs networks were created by the cable TV industry to provide coverage of the House of Representatives and Senate, White House, Pentagon, and State Department.
While the bus is on the road, its crew produces short features highlighting local points of interest. These bus vignettes are aired regularly on C-SPAN. The bus will be open for public tours from 12:50 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. today at the school, 3373 Pruden Blvd.
