I am 16 years old and listen to the news most nights. Awhile ago there was a piece of news that really interested me. It was about a motel in the city of Norfolk that was willing to turn its facility into a shelter for the homeless. Of course, it went to City Council and was not passed because people said they were afraid of crime.
Well, most people who are homeless are that way because they are out of work or down on their luck. They are not hardened criminals. And I am sure that the ones who were against it are in a nice warm home on a bitter night, as it was this weekend.
I would like all the people who fought against this measure to think about those who have to suffer in the cold because of their selfish attitude.
