JENNIE L. LINDSEY

Jennie L. ``Ma Jennie'' Lindsey, 85, of the 400 block of N. Witchduck Road, died Jan. 23, 1997, in a local hospital.

A member of Union Baptist Church for more than 70 years, she was a member of the deaconess board, where she served faithfully for many years. She was also a member of United Order of Tents-Golden Sheaves No. 137.

Survivors include daughter, Cora L. Taylor of Chesapeake; three sons, James E. Lindsey Sr. of Norfolk, Jessie R. Lindsey Sr. of Norfolk and Connie L. Lindsey Sr. of Virginia Beach; sister, Catherine Spencer of Norfolk; 54 grandchildren; 108 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends; four daughters-in-law; three sons-in-law; and one sister-in-law, Cora L. Rutherford of Brooklyn, N.Y.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Morning Star Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. William S. Walton. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will reside in the 400 block of N. Witchduck Road and will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday in P.G. Thomasson Funeral Services Inc. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
