Mary Ellen Jenkins, 64, of the 2100 block of Sandalwood Road, was joined with the Lord, her husband Alan of 39 years and their son, Michael, Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997. She died peacefully in her home.
Mrs. Jenkins was born in Madison, Wis., and was the daughter of Earl and Mona Collins. She happily worked side by side with her husband, Al, as a partner in Custom Antique Aeroplanes, until they retired together.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Jenkins Newton of Virginia Beach, Donna Jenkins Wagnor of Sugar Loaf Key, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Katherine Jenkins Rice Midgette of Norfolk; two sisters, Shan Humbel and Pat Eugster of Wisconsin; three brothers, Tim Collins of Illinois, John Collins of Wisconsin, Bill Collins of Texas; a brother-in-law, William K. Jenkins of Virginia Beach; two nieces, Kendall Jenkins and Amy Jenkins of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren, Jacob R. Newton and Kenneth R. Newton of Virginia Beach, Michael A. Midgette and Kaci L. Midgette of Norfolk. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and an endless number of loving friends and neighbors.
Friends will be received by the family at the residence from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Wednesday. The family has requested that memorial donations be given to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is handling arrangements.
