DO UNTO OTHERS. . . .

As neither Jewish nor Christian, I felt the letter sent by the Southern Baptists to numerous synagogues and rabbis to be, at best, presumptuous and, at worst, a deliberate defamation of the Jewish religion. It sounded as if the evangelical Christians were completely discounting the beliefs of those practicing one of the world's major religions.

I do not subscribe to the beliefs of Southern Baptists, yet I respect their rights enough not to discount what or whom they worship. Would it not be the Christian thing for them to show other religions the same respect?
