Leighton Thomas Bailey Sr., 65, of the 3200 block of Hornsea Road, passed away Jan. 29, 1997, at his home.
He was employed by Ford Plant Security for 44 years. He was a deacon at the Union Presbyterian Church, Carthage, N.C., and a member of the Woodland Heights Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Angie Frye Bailey; a daughter, Cynthia Bailey Rigdon and her husband, Nickey G. Rigdon; three sons, Leighton, David and Jonathan Bailey; mother, Ila E. Bailey; sister, Judy B. Hill; two brothers, Gordon W. and Cecil E. Bailey; and a grandson, Nicholas G. Rigdon.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Union Presbyterian Church, Carthage. Burial will be follow in the church cemetery.
