Carroll L. DuBose, 87, of the 2600 block of Greenwood Drive, died Jan. 29, 1997, in his residence.
A native of Georgia, he was a retired U.S. Navy chief warrant officer and a member of Western Branch Baptist Church, past master of America-Fellowship Masonic Lodge (NU)148, Mount Horeb Royal Arch Chapter (NU)11, Union Council (NU)7, Pensacola, Fla. He was veteran of World War II and Korea and a Pearl Harbor survivor.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Skeeter DuBose; three sisters, Joyce Stokes and husband, E.Y., Mattie Bell Lane and husband, Jim, all of Macon, Ga., Neomia Chance and husband, Johnny, of Danville, Ga.; two brothers, I.F. DuBose and wife, Nellie, and Calvin DuBose, all of Macon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Western Branch Baptist Church by the Rev. George Mullinax. Burial with Masonic Rites and military honors will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
