Josef Fischer, 69, of the 8400 block of Larrymore Ave., died Jan. 28, 1997, in his residence.
Born in Palitz, Czechoslovakia, he was a retired self-employed shoemaker and was a member of German European-American Society of Virginia.
Survivors include his wife, Luise Fischer; a daughter, Renate Bose and her husband, Matthew, of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Maria Salomon, Anelise Lang, Hilde Meyer, all of Germany; two grandchildren, Adam Josef Bose and Eric William Bose, both of Virginia Beach.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Sentara Hospice in memory of Josef Fischer.
