A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged with the Jan. 21 murder of 18-year-old Joseph W. Williams, police said.
The suspect, who was not identified, was arrested Friday in the 2400 block of St. Denis Ave. In addition to the homicide, he is charged with wounding a second man during the incident, which occurred in the 2100 block of Lafayette Blvd., said Larry Hill, police spokesman.
The identity of the wounded man, 22, was also withheld because he witnessed the homicide, Hill said.
Few details were available about the shootings. A clerk at the Tinee Giant in the 2000 block of Lafayette Blvd. said the injured man ran into the store shortly after the shootings and told people inside that he had been shot by a man on a bicycle.
Hill said the suspect and Williams had been involved in an ongoing dispute.
The suspect was charged with murder, aggravated assault and two counts of using a firearm during the commission of a felony.
