IRVIN C. RUFF

Irvin C. ``Jack'' Ruff, 62, of the 400 block of Dorset Ave. died Jan. 28, 1997, in Manning Convalescent Home, Portsmouth.

A drywall hanger, Mr. Ruff was a native of Palmyra, N.C., and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Ruff; stepdaughter, Olivia Brown of Suffolk; mother, Mary Quarles of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Laurie Washington of Columbus and Marilyn Oliver of New York City; two brothers, Francis Quarles and Michael Quarles, both of New York City; two aunts, Viola Wiggins and Nannie Sherrod, both of Portsmouth; and a host of other relatives, in-laws and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, by Dr. William S. Hampton. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake, with military honors. Viewing at the funeral home will begin at noon today.
