Sarah Story O'Connor, 77, of the 5200 block of Sweetbriar Circle, died Jan. 30, 1997, in Chesapeake.
A retired clerk typist at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Mrs. O'Connor was a native of Suffolk and the widow of Francis X. O'Connor. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She had been a very active member of the Chancel Choir and the Joy Sunday School Class.
Survivors include three daughters, Sarah Francis Story of Portsmouth, Dianne DeLoach of Richmond and Stephanie Elizabeth Sheppard of Portsmouth; son, Jonathan Story O'Connor of Portsmouth; sister, Sadie May Story of Portsmouth; brother, Tom Story of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Amanda Lee Blattner of Lynchburg, Va., and Bart Bryant of Virginia Beach; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Robert F. Cofield. The family will be at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
