Good deeds: Re/Max Alliance in Virginia Beach has been designated a Miracle Office for its support of the Children's Miracle Network. One hundred percent of the sales associates pledged a portion of their commissions to benefit CMN, specifically the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. Re/Max agent Judy Thaler received the award on behalf of the local agency. Last year, all Re/Max agents raised $3 million for CMN nationally.
Al Carmichael, outgoing president of the Commercial Real Estate Council, has presented a check for over $10,000 to Old Dominion University for a scholarship in the name of the late Lori Kaplan.
Agents and staffers at Nancy Chandler Associates raised cash donations to six churches participating in the Norfolk Emergency Shelter Team, which aids the homeless during the winter. The employees organized a silent auction.
