Mrs. Marie Bland Fields, 69, of the 600 block of Hurt St., died Thursday, Jan. 30, 1997 in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Emmett, Tenn., and had lived in Portsmouth for 30 years before moving to Abingdon in 1985. She was a member of the Denton Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James H. Fields; two daughters, Sandra K. Andrews of Belhaven, N.C., Kathy VanDyck of Abingdon; a son, Robert Edward Fields of Portsmouth; three sisters, Margaret Smith and Frances Shortt, both of Abingdon, Nancy Hawk of Gray, Tenn.; a brother, Jake Bland of Glade Spring, Va.; five granddaughters; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today in Knollkreg Memorial Park by Johnnie Fields. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Bland, Pat Maiden, Bob Bentley and Frank Montgomery. The family received friends Friday at Campbell Funeral Home, Abingdon.
