Willard W. Pruett, 76, died Jan. 31, 1997, at a local hospital.
Mr. Pruett was born June 3, 1920, in Loveland, Colo., to Millard A. Pruett and Lula Pruett. He graduated from high school in Cheyenne, Wyo., and attended Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho.
Mr. Pruett was employed with Union Pacific Railroad Co., and the Wyoming Highway Department. Mr. Pruett also worked for the U.S. Senate Official Reporters of Debate Staff for 23 years. He was in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and was honorably discharged as sergeant major. Mr. Pruett was married to Donifay M. Lloyd in 1939 and was married for 58 years.
Mr. Pruett was actively involved in the Church of Nazarene in Leadership Sunday School teaching roles and music ministry.
Survivors include his wife, Donifay M. Pruett; two daughters, Cindy C. Ruble of Arlington, Va., Sharon P. Johnson of Virginia Beach; a sister, Violet Drake of Cheyenne; a brother, Alan Pruett Jr. of Yakima, Wash.; four grandchildren, Christopher B. Johnson, Angela R. Johnson, Kristen L. Ruble and Kelley M. Ruble.
A chapel service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by Pastor Jack Smith. Burial will be at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.
