Herman Lee King, 77, of the 1100 block of Candlewood Drive, died Jan. 30, 1997, at his residence.
Born in Mecklenburg County, Va., he was the widower of Gladys B. King. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 28 years service and worked at the Ford Plant for 35 1/2 years. He was a member of Princess Anne Masonic Lodge (NU)25 AF&AM, Doric Masonic Lodge (NU)44, AF&AM, Norfolk United Royal Arch Chapter (NU)1, Norfolk Scottish Rite Bodies and the Khedive Temple of the Shrine, A.A.O.N.M.S.
Survivors include six brothers, Woodrow W. King of White Plains, Va., Gilbert L. King of Forney, Texas, Earnest W. King of Kenbridge, Va., Harry E. King of White Plains, Robert W. King Jr. of Carrsville, Va., and Len F. King of Virginia Beach.
A masonic service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Virginia Beach. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Shriner's Crippled and Burn Children's Hospitals, c/o Khedive Temple, 645 Woodlake Drive, Chesapeake, Va. 23320.
