BERNARD M. BROWN

Bernard M. Brown, 67, of the 3700 block of Magnolia Drive, died Feb. 1, 1997, in Maryview Hospital.

Mr. Brown, the son of the late Stella Novak and Milo W. Brown, was born in Ilion, N.Y. He attended Mohawk College and then served in the U.S. Army. An industrial engineer, he was employed by General Electric Co. After retiring in 1985, he was a realtor with Howell and Sherrill. An avid golfer, he was also a member of Knights of Columbus and the Lion's Club. Additionally, he served as a volunteer tax preparer for the A.A.R.P. Mr. Brown was a member of the Church of the Resurrection. Gregarious and affable, he brightened the lives of family and friends alike. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia J. Brown; daughters, Susan B. and her husband, Don Comer of Chesapeake, Teresa B. and her husband, Larry Madden of Suffolk; a son, Michael J. and his wife, Cheryl Brown of Suffolk; a granddaughter, Kathleen C. Comer; an uncle, Oliver Brown and his wife, Noreen; and an aunt, Mary Vangura. The family would like to acknowledge special friends, John and Joan Skrobiszewski, Shirley and Jack Marine, Pat and Bob Bechard and Don Cristman.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at the Church of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
