Robert M. Lane III, 32, of the 1800 block of Egret Court, died Feb. 1, 1997, in a local hospital.
Mr. Lane was a born in Rapid City, S.D. He was very active with the Plaza Little League and the Plaza Recreation Association in Virginia Beach. He was a recreation supervisor aide with the City of Virginia Beach for over six years and graduated from the apprentice school of Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
Survivors include his mother and father, Sue H. and Robert M. Lane Jr. of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Meredith and Shannon Lane of Virginia Beach; a sister, Robin Lynn Lane-Blair of Virginia Beach; two brothers, James Todd Lane of Woodland, N.C., and Jeffery Steven Lane of Virginia Beach; his fiancee, Victoria Harris, and her children, Tiffany, Raymond, Amberly and Holly of Chesapeake.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Colonial Grove Cemetery, Virginia Beach, by Pastor Daniel Davey. The family will receive friends in the Laskin Road Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Virginia Beach, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
