Kenneth Wick Matson, 78, of the 3100 block of Illinois Ave., died Feb. 1, 1997, in Sentara Nursing Center.
Mr. Matson was born in Purlear, N.C., and was a Baptist. He served in the Merchant Marine and retired after 41 years as a cab driver for Black and White Cab Co.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Alma N. Matson; two nieces, Marjory C. Miles and Nita Klug; great-great-nieces, Patricia Carter and Darlean Cheson; great-great-great-nieces, Gayle Kennedy, Kathy Jimerson and Lynda Duke; and numerous other loving family members. He was predeceased by four brothers and four sisters.
Services will be private. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Assembly of God, 4925 Providence Road, Virginia Beach.
