James Elroy Bandy, 68, of the 1700 block of Bainbridge Blvd., died Jan. 31, 1997.
A retired truck driver, Mr. Bandy was a Pulaski, Va., native. He was a member of Chesapeake Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Elam Bandy; three daughters, Rita Dove, Charlotte Ames and Rita Gillikin; two stepdaughters, Vickie Johnson and Deanna Hale; three sons, Beau Bandy, Robert Bandy and Austin Watkins; stepson, Jesse Hale; two sisters, Frances Lawrence and Dixie Pierce; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Jack Sawyer. The family will receive friends in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
