Luther Franklin ``Buck'' Arney, 82, of the 4400 block of Deborah Court, died Feb. 2, 1997, in Portsmouth.
A retired superintendent for Tidewater Construction Co., Mr. Arney was a Lenoir, N.C., native and the widower of Maudie P. Arney. He was a member of Whitnel United Methodist Church, Lenoir.
Survivors include three sisters, Janet Crump, Deloris A. Crabb and Lelia A. Knight, all of Lenoir; sister-in-law, Beatrice Shaw of Long Island, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by Mr. James A. Bennett. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
