Mrs. Dorothy White Lanier, 74, of Route 2, died Monday, Feb. 3, 1997.
Mrs. Lanier was a native of Bertie County, the daughter of the late Denny B. White and Fannie Bazemore White, and a member of Creeksville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin Lanier; three sons, Charles Lanier of Conway, Stancil and Ricky Lanier, both of Franklin, Va.; a sister, Lucille Craft of Walstonburg, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Carol Lynn Leggett, Laura Jean Lanier, Charles Lanier Jr., Jill Lanier, Dusty Lanier, Lindsay Lanier, Ricky Lanier II and Betsy Lanier.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Creeksville Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Jackson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorial contributions may be made to Conway-Severn Rescue Squad or Jackson Rescue Squad.
