Ruth Hale Edwards of the 5600 block of Tidewater Drive died Feb. 3, 1997, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Born in Middlesex County, Va., she was the widow of Earl Edwards and a member of Spurgeon Memorial Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna E. Garris of Virginia Beach, and a grandchild, Gregory G. Garris Jr.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Spurgeon Memorial Baptist Church by Dr. Paul Lawson. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
