PRESTON NICKENS

Preston ``Press'' Nickens, 78, died Feb. 1, 1997, in Maryview Nursing Care Center, Suffolk.

A native of North Carolina and formerly of Portsmouth, he was retired from American Brake Shoe Co. He was a resident of the Maryview Nursing Care Center and he regularly attended chapel services and Bible Study. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include a sister, Diantha Williford of Suffolk; a very devoted niece-in-law, Linda Alexander Robinson of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. Ronald R. Rice. Burial with military honors will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing will begin at 2 p.m. today in Corprew Funeral Home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Thursday for the funeral service.
