SARAH V. BORUM

Sarah V. Borum, 85, of the 100 block of Virginia Beach Blvd., heeded her last call Wednesday, Jan. 29, 1997, in Sentara Nursing Center, Norfolk.

She was a Norfolk native, the widow of Mr. Johnnie Borum and a member of Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, Virginia Beach.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Mrs. Gracie Hatcher and son-in-law, Mr. Albert J. Hatcher Jr. of Virginia Beach; granddaughter, Mrs. Linda Tillery; grandsons, Mr. Lankford Phillips Jr., Mr. Larry D. Creekmore, Mr. Seth Lee Mitchell, all of Virginia Beach; step-granddaughter, Patricia Juanita Lewis, all of Virginia Beach; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Ms. Mattie Land and Mr. David Woodhouse.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Upper Room Church on the Rock COGIC, 448 Rudder Road, Virginia Beach, by Elder William L. Perry. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in P.G. Thomasson Funeral Home, which is in charge. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. The family will assemble in the funeral home for the funeral procession at 11 a.m.
