Ruby C. Spivey, formerly of Portsmouth, died Feb. 5, 1997, in a Richmond hospital.
She was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church, Mosley, and a former member of Collinswood Baptist Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include a son, Burley Gennell Spivey; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burley Gurney Spivey, and a son, Benjamin Gurney Spivey.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
