Humphrey Brinn, 81, formerly of Chesapeake, died Feb. 4, 1997, in Onslow Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville, N.C., after a long illness.
Mr. Brinn was a native of Hyde County, N.C., and was the son of the late Burnie Due Brinn and Ludie Choburn Brinn. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, a 32nd-degree Mason, Grice Commandery, 016 Norfolk, Royal Arch No. 82, Naomi Lodge, 0087 Norfolk, Khedive Temple, Chesapeake, and Great Bridge No. 155 OES.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Garrish Brinn; son, Lindon Brinn of Jacksonville; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, by the Rev. Steve Irby. Interment will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
